Flies
There are over 16,000 species of flies found in North America. Only 20 or so of these species cause problems in residential households. Either the adult or the larva (maggot) of these domestic flies can become a tremendous nuisance and have the possibility of transmitting disease. Each of these flies has a unique lifestyle; therefore identifying the fly species is extremely important. Once the fly is identified, the larval food source can be more easily found. To control domestic flies, removal of the larval food source is essential. Pesticide applications are of limited use. An integrated pest management approach which addresses environmental factors is needed to attain sustained control.
Our District will inspect your property, identify the fly and make recommendations for the elimination of the larval food source.
